Live at the Library: Elliott Markow and Cody Switzer In-Person
Enjoy a soothing afternoon of violin and guitar music composed by 19th and 20th-century Italian superstars Nicolo Paganini and Mauro Giuliani, Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, and other notable solo works as performed by violinist Elliott Markow and guitarist Cody Switzer.
Elliott Markow, violinist, is a native of the Boston area. His first solo appearance, at age eleven, was with the Boston Pops. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University, during which time he became a member of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and a substitute member of the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony. His teachers included William Kroll, Emanuel Borok, Berl Senofsky, and legendary Jascha Heifetz.
As a member of the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra, he was in both the first violin section and the viola section. His numerous solo appearances include the first American orchestral performance of Paganini’s “La Primavera." Mr. Markow is former Concertmaster of Symphony New Hampshire and maintains a private teaching studio.
Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Cody Switzer began playing music at 10 years old, starting with classical guitar lessons. He continued his music education at the University of Alabama where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance in 2015. Post-graduation he moved to Tallahassee, Florida to achieve a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration at Florida State University in 2018.
Cody is currently the Assistant Director of the Nashua Community Music School, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that creates innovative music programming and makes it accessible to all.
