2025 Nature Quest with Nashua River Watershed Association 

WHAT: NRWA Naturalists will lead five FREE guided outdoor exploration programs for children ages 6-13 and their families to learn about the diversity of plant and animal life and their connection to the Nashua River while exploring various wildlife habitats in five outdoor city parks during winter and spring months. This program is supported in part by the Merrimack Conservation Partnership and the Brian S McCarthy Foundation.

WHEN: Programs will be held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, with a bonus walk in May!

  • NRWA Discovery Backpacks will be provided to each family team so that participants have a variety of field guides, hand lenses, binoculars, and other resources to use during each program.
  • Children and families discover ways to connect with local nature and outdoor spaces as a place for recreation, exploration, health, and exercise.
  • Supporting family outdoor recreation while learning about water and land, human impact, wildlife corridors, and the importance of nature parks in their city of Nashua.

January 11: Animals of the Forest Tracks and Signs - Greeley Park

February 8: Winter Wildlife & Pond Habitats - Nashua River Rail Trailhead and Pond

March 8: River Otters, Beavers, & Muskrats of the Nashua River - Mine Falls Park

April 12: Spring Surprises in & around the Pond - Lovewell Pond Park

May 10: Macroinvertebrates & Metamorphosis: Aquatic Insects - Field Grove

May 31: Our Wild Neighbors: Urban Wildlife & Where They Live - Nashua Public Library
