African Art Series: Shango to Shonibare: African Art in the Black Atlantic World Online
Join us for the last session in our introduction to African Art series! This month, we'll focus on the form, meaning, and movement of the Thunder Deity Shango from Africa through the Diaspora (Cuba, Brazil, Haiti), and into the art of the Harlem Renaissance and Civil Rights movement in the United States
Presented in partnership with Groton Public Library and the Fitchburg Art Museum virtually on the second Sunday of the month through May 2025.
