Visible Menders Skill-Building: Basic Hand Sewing for Patching

Visible Menders Skill-Building: Basic Hand Sewing for Patching In-Person

This week will focus on two basic stitches that can help with so many mends: the running stitch and back stitch, taught by sewing instructor Doris Basquil. All materials will be provided. Please arrive at 6pm if you are interested in learning these two stitches.

After the skill-building demonstration, you'll have time to try out the running and back stitches with support from your peers, or you can work on another visible mending project. If you do not want to learn the stitches, come by anytime between 6 and 8 to work on your projects like usual.

About Visible Menders:

Are you interested in an eco-friendly alternative to fast fashion? Do you enjoy visible mending as an art form, or are you interested in the concept? Then this group is for you! Bring your own project, and stitch to your heart's content! Unless noted, this is not an instructional program, but we can learn from each other. Other fiber enthusiasts are welcome! Meets every 2nd and 4th Monday.
