Community Stitch Up

Community Stitch Up In-Person

Join nationally renowned craftivist Shannon Downey aka Baddass Cross Stitch for 90 minutes of fiber art, conversation, laughs, and community outside on the library plaza. Feel free to bring whatever you're working on or would like to work on. For those who'd like to learn, Shannon will be prepared to teach embroidery and materials will be provided. 

Everyone is welcome to bring their own seating and food and drinks. Lawn chairs and mats will also be available to borrow.

Shannon Downey is an artist, activist, craftivist, community builder, and general instigator. She blends her politics, activism, and art into projects that are designed to inspire others to take action, think, discuss, engage with democracy and their community, and find some digital/analog balance. She makes art to inspire others to make art. Her passion is teaching people how to stab out their frustrations + take action to build a just world.
